Frequently Asked Questions.

AstroworldMC is in closed beta right now, so only players on the beta list can join. Everyone else can play from the public launch.

The Java IP is play.astroworldmc.com. Add it to your server list in Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11.

For Bedrock (Windows, phones and tablets): the same address play.astroworldmc.com on port 25571. Geyser handles the conversion. Xbox, PlayStation and Switch don't let you add your own server, so consoles can't join directly.

The server runs Minecraft 1.21.11. Older Java versions can't connect.

The hub is the lobby you land in. From there:

• Type /survival to go to the survival world
• Or click the survival NPC in the hub
• You will get a one-time starter kit ($1,000 + iron tools + food + Claim Shovel) when you arrive

The hub itself is for travel only. You cannot break or place blocks there, and survival commands like /sethome and /buychunk only work after you reach the survival world.

It is a golden shovel in your starter kit. Use it to mark land as yours.

Right-click two opposite corners of an area you want to claim. The system marks that area as your claim. Once claimed, no one else can break or place blocks inside without your trust.

You start with 768 claim blocks and earn 256 more per hour while online. See the player guide for the full claim system.

Yes. No purchase needed to join, build, or play.

The store has optional cosmetics and donor ranks for players who want to support the server, but everything you need to play is available without spending real money. We do not sell pay-to-win items.

Java Edition 1.21.11. Older Java versions can't connect.

Bedrock players (Windows, phones and tablets) connect through Geyser with the same IP on port 25571. Keep Bedrock updated to the newest version. Xbox, PlayStation and Switch don't let you add your own server, so consoles can't join directly.

If you connect on another Java version, you see "outdated client" or "incompatible". Switch to 1.21.11 in the launcher before reporting issues.

The short checkout page is at /store. For deeper product explanations, rank comparisons, crate odds, AstroCoins, extras, delivery notes, refunds, and EULA compliance, see our store guide at store.astroworldmc.com.

Use the guide to research products, then buy only through the official checkout at astroworldmc.com/store.

Check these in order:

1. Is your account on the beta list? During the closed beta the server only lets in players on the list. Everyone else sees "Astroworld MC is currently in closed beta".
2. Are you on the right Minecraft version (Java 1.21.11)?
3. Is your username/account verified with Mojang/Microsoft? Cracked accounts are not supported.
4. Did you mistype the IP? It is play.astroworldmc.com (Bedrock: port 25571).
5. Is the server actually online? Check astroworldmc.com/status for live status.
6. Are you banned? Bans show a message on the disconnect screen.

If none of these apply, file a report through /support with your username and the exact error message.

Yes, alts are allowed for normal play (siblings, family, second account for testing).

Not allowed:

• Voting on the same site with multiple accounts
• Stacking daily login rewards across accounts
• Using alts to evade bans
• Multi-account trading to game leaderboards

Voting rewards are tied to your IP, not your account. Alt voting gets nulled and the alts get disabled.

See rules 4.5 and 6.1 for the full alt policy.

No. Your Minecraft password is between you and Mojang/Microsoft.

We do not store, see, or have access to your account password. Recover it through Microsoft account recovery.

Anyone claiming to be Astroworld staff and asking for your password is impersonating staff. Report them immediately. We will never ask. See rule 6.5.

In-game, type /discord or /link discord. You will get a code to enter in the Discord server.

Or click the Discord NPC in the hub. Same flow.

Linking unlocks Discord-only perks (role auto-sync, channel access) and is required for some staff features. Linking is free and takes about 30 seconds.

Two possibilities:

1. Same IP / shared connection. If your ban was joined via shared WiFi (siblings, dorm, family), the IP block may be hitting both of you. File an appeal through /support explaining the situation.

2. Account sharing. If you shared your account with the banned friend, anything they did is on your account. We do not reverse "but it was my friend" bans. See rule 6.2.

For appeals, use /support and include both account names.

Type /pvp on to allow other players to attack you. Type /pvp off to turn it back off.

By default, PvP is off in the survival world. You have to opt in.

Where PvP is always on: the PvP warp. Where PvP is always off: the hub. Where you choose: the survival world.

If you turn PvP on and lose items, that is your call. We do not refund items lost in fair PvP.

You cannot toggle PvP off mid-fight to escape. The system has a cooldown for that. See rule 2.2.

Depends on whether you trusted them.

• You did not trust them: they cannot break, place, or open chests. They can walk through and look around.
• You did trust them with /trust: they can build, break, and open chests.

If a trusted player abuses access (steals from chests, breaks builds), that is theft and a rule break. File a report. See rule 2.6.

To remove trust: /untrust <player>.

/buychunk buys 1 chunk of claim blocks. /buychunk 3 buys 3 at once (max 8 per command).

Each chunk gives you 256 claim blocks.

Pricing scales with playtime and how many you bought:

• New players (under 1 hour): $45,000 per chunk
• Chunks 1 to 5: $15,000 each
• Chunks 6 to 10: $22,500 each
• Chunks 11 to 20: $32,500 each
• Chunks 21 and beyond: $45,000 each

/buychunk only works in the survival world.

Both portals work normally in the survival world.

• Nether: build a Nether portal
• End: find an End portal in a stronghold

/rtp nether and /rtp end will random-teleport you in those dimensions if you are already there. They will not transport you between dimensions.

Usually no. Death loss is part of the game.

Exceptions:

• Server crashed during your death: file a report, we may be able to restore.
• A bug or server issue caused the death: file a report with details.
• A trusted player on your claim killed you and took items: that is theft, file a report.
• PvP loss with PvP toggled on: no refund. That was your choice.

For any item recovery request, file a report through /support with your username, approximate location, time of death, and what you lost.

Several ways:

1. Voting: $750 per site, 8 sites total
2. Selling items at /shop: the admin shop buys most resources
3. Chest shops: set up your own with /shopbuy and /shopsell to sell to other players
4. Auction House: list items for other players to bid on
5. Player trades: use /trade <player> for safe deals
6. Mob farms, mining, farming: classic ways

Voting + a productive farm is the fastest path for new players.

The server's premium currency. Separate from regular money. Used for special items.

How to get them:

• Voting (1 per site)
• Playtime in the survival world (slow accrual)
• Vote crates have AstroCoin chances

How to use them:

• /astro shows your balance
• /astroshop opens the AstroCoin shop
• /astrobuy <item> buys directly

Current shop offers:

You can also withdraw AstroCoins as a paper note with /astrowithdraw <amount> and give them to another player. Right-click the note to redeposit.

Vote on each of the 8 vote sites once per day. Every vote gives:

• $750 in-game money (guaranteed)
• 1 Vote Crate Key (guaranteed)
• A chance for the Voter tag
• A chance for AstroCoins

Vote Crate Keys open the vote crate, which has 98 different rewards. If you keep voting, you build up keys and open them in batches.

Cooldowns vary per site. Most are 24 hours. The vote page on the website shows the exact cooldown for each.

/trade <player> - direct, atomic swap. Both sides put their items in, both confirm, the swap happens. Cannot be scammed at the last second. Use this for one-off deals.

Chest shops - passive, ongoing. You set up a chest with /shopbuy or /shopsell and players can buy/sell at any time. Use this for selling resources you want to move while offline.

Auction House - listing-based. You list an item, players bid or buy out. Use this for valuable single items.

Dropping items on the ground - never safe. Items can be picked up by anyone. We do not refund items lost this way.

For large or rare item exchanges: always use /trade. For passive resource selling: chest shops.

No. This is called RMT (Real-Money Trading) and it is banned.

What is banned:

• Selling in-game money for real money (PayPal, crypto, gift cards, etc.)
• Buying in-game items for real money outside the official store
• Trading Astroworld items for items on other servers
• Paying other players real money to do gameplay tasks for you

The only legal way to spend real money on Astroworld is the official store on the website.

Buyer and seller both get the same punishment if caught: 7 day temp ban first offense, permanent ban second. See rule 4.3.

File a report through /support with:

• The other player's username
• What was traded
• When it happened
• Screenshots or chat logs if you have them

If the scam happened through /trade, we can usually verify what was offered (the system logs offers). If it happened through dropped items or unlocked chests, we cannot recover those - that is at your own risk.

If we verify the scam: 7 day temp ban for the scammer + full refund to you. See rule 4.1.

Donor ranks are purchased on the website store. There is no in-game grind path to ranks.

The ladder, lowest to highest:

Member → VIP → VIP+ → MVP → King → Immortal

Higher ranks include all perks of the ranks below.

Anyone offering to sell you a rank for in-game money is scamming. Ranks are website-store only. Report and ban.

Donor ranks unlock:

• More homes (Member 2, VIP 3, VIP+ 4, MVP 5, King 6, Immortal 7)
• More auction slots (5 / 8 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30)
• Custom rank kit (/kit) with better starting items
• Cosmetics: more trails, auras, tags, hats, wings, elytra skins
• Custom chat tag with rank prefix
• Some ranks unlock color codes for nicknames

Specific kit contents and cosmetic lists are on the store page.

A one-time-use item that comes from the vote crate. It lets you try the next rank up's kit without buying it.

• Member → VIP preview
• VIP → VIP+ preview
• VIP+ → MVP preview
• MVP → King preview
• King → Legendary (highest tier) preview

It is a sample of what each donor tier gets. Useful if you are deciding whether to buy a rank.

Real staff have a visible rank tag in chat:

[Helper] PlayerName: ...
[Mod] PlayerName: ...
[Admin] PlayerName: ...

If someone says they are staff but does not have the tag, they are impersonating staff. That is a rule break. File a report.

Real staff:

• Will never ask for your password
• Won't ask you to install software or click external links
• Don't accept payment for special treatment
• Don't trade ranks for in-game money

See rule 1.8 and rule 6.5.

Find a crate in the survival world (vote crate and cosmic crate are placed in spawn). Hold a key for that crate type and right-click the crate.

You can preview rewards without spending a key:

• /crates vote - see vote crate rewards
• /crates cosmic - see cosmic crate rewards
• /crate - opens the crate menu in your inventory

Vote crate has 98 rewards including money, AstroCoins, enchanted items, spawners, perks, cosmetics, and ultra-rare items.

Vote on any of the 8 vote sites. Every vote gives 1 key, guaranteed.

Keys go directly to your inventory. Save them up and open multiple at once if you want.

The /vote page on the website lists all 8 sites with current cooldowns and reward summaries.

The cosmic crate is the rare crate with the best rewards: high-tier money payouts, multiple AstroCoins, spawn eggs for rare mobs, donor-tier kit items, exclusive cosmetics, and ultra-rare items.

Cosmic keys are not from voting. They drop from special events, are sold occasionally on the store, or come as ultra-rare drops from vote crates.

Use /crates cosmic to see the full reward list.

A few possibilities:

1. Cooldown not reset. Most sites have 24h cooldown. Some are shorter. Check the site itself.
2. VPN/proxy. Some vote sites block VPN traffic. Vote without VPN.
3. Wrong username. The vote site needs your exact Minecraft username, case-sensitive.
4. Vote site is having issues. Check astroworldmc.com/status to see if voting is flagged.
5. Pop-up blocker. Some vote sites need a confirmation pop-up to register the vote.

If the vote shows as registered on the site but you got no rewards in-game: file a report with a screenshot of the vote site confirmation.

A few things to check:

• Your end: ping the server with your launcher. If your ping is 200+ ms, that is a network issue on your side.
• Your client: Optifine and Sodium can both improve performance. Both are allowed.
• Render distance: lower it in your video settings. 8 chunks is plenty for survival.
• Server end: if everyone is laggy at the same time, check /status for known incidents.

If the server itself is laggy: do not build huge mob farms, redstone clocks, or entity spawners. They cause TPS drops. See rule 3.5.

You are probably standing in someone else's claim. Right-click with your Claim Shovel to see who owns the area.

Other reasons:

• Spawn protection (in the hub or near spawn)
• Protected event/build zones
• The block is anchored to a protected entity (claim chest)

If you think the block should be breakable and is not, file a report with the coordinates.

Many survival commands are blocked in the hub on purpose:

• /sethome, /home, /delhome, /homes
• /buychunk, /buychunks, /claimblocks
• /shop, /shopbuy, /shopsell
• /astro, /astroshop, /astrobuy
• /trade

These all work once you reach the survival world (/survival).

Hub commands that DO work: /survival, /discord, /link discord, /help, /rules, /support.

Yes, please. Honest bug reports may earn you a small reward.

Use /support and describe:

• What you did
• What happened that should not have
• How to reproduce it (if you can)
• Any screenshots or video

Do not exploit the bug. Reporting honestly = potential reward. Exploiting = temp ban + items removed. Sharing the bug with friends to exploit together = longer ban.

If the bug duplicates items, gives unlimited money, bypasses claims, or breaks economy rules: stop immediately and report. See rule 3.3.

Click "Join Discord" anywhere on the website, or use the link in the homepage hero.

After joining:

1. Read #welcome and #announcements
2. Link your Minecraft account with /link discord in-game
3. Say hi in #general
4. Drop ideas in #suggestions

Discord is also where you can claim OG status if you joined before launch.

The first 50 Discord members get permanent OG (Original) badge. It comes with:

• Permanent OG tag in Discord
• VIP+ rank in-game (free, permanent)
• Beta access to test features before public launch
• Priority access to launch events

OG status is locked once we hit 50 members. After that, no more OG slots ever.

Yes for casual questions in #general. The community is friendly and other players answer most stuff fast.

For actual reports (bans, scams, bugs, item loss, appeals): use /support on the website. We track those formally and they go to the whole staff team. DMs to a specific staff member can get missed.

Promoting other Minecraft servers, Discord servers, or businesses is not allowed. That includes IPs, links, names, or hints.

Talking about your own YouTube channel or Twitch stream IF it is Astroworld content is fine. Sharing a clip of you playing on Astroworld? Great. Posting "subscribe to my channel" with no Astroworld context? Spam.

DM advertising (cold DMs to members) gets a permanent ban with no warning. See rule 8.2.

Go to astroworldmc.com/apply and fill out the form for the role you want. Applications open and close throughout the year.

We do not take applications via DM, in-game chat, or by asking staff in person. The form is the only way.

After applying:

• We read every application
• Shortlisted applicants get an interview in Discord
• Final decisions are made as a team
• We post results within a few weeks of closing

Reapply later if you do not get in this round. Most staff applied multiple times before being accepted.
